Sorry only 1 lemon slice per customer

This weekend was the Northwoods Stamp and Scrap Book convention. Susan's friend Amy joined us this weekend. (I did not go to the convention). It turns out Amy never has experienced Friday Fish Fry. So we went to the local favorite dining establishment favored by people over the age of 102. Amy ordered a Pepsi with a slice of Lemon. Well they have a rule only lemon is allowed with fish orders, and you are limited to one slice. Apparently they have strict "lemon" laws up there. And you only get one refill per drink. Not only are they Lemon Nazi's they are drink Nazi's as well. They need to change their rules or the young people will stop coming in.

It was also the annual "Wife Carry" competition. minocqua.org/Events/Wife-CarryingCompetition.php Susan told me I would have to get a new wife if I want to enter. So the entire weekend was me saying " My next Wife will ________" fill in the blank. Which ranged from "Be nice to me", "let me buy a John Deere","Be sane"... All the answers were no of course.

Saturday evening we went for a boat ride, and it was one of those rides where I wish I took my camera. In 40 minute ride around the lake we saw; A mother Loon with a baby Loon riding on her back. A flock of some unknown bird getting ready to migrate. 2 Adult Loons. And an Eagle which landed less than 50 feet from us in a Pine tree. The eagle was so big I thought it was going to pull the tree down. It was a moment which made all the work on the house worth it, and the reason I want to keep the house.

I also found out another neighbor is selling their house. They live off the lake adjacent to our back lot. I could buy that house, and the neighbors 2 doors down, the 2 empty lots down the road, and the old Thompson House and land...I would be a big land baron. And broke.

Oh and I did some work too. Not shown, but I did get the Vanity for the bathroom. It is in place, but not hooked up yet.  And I tested out the new shower... no leaks. Oh yeah, we got floors now.

I would like to thank Mike from "The Hardwood Flooring Outlet", Woodruff, Wi for their fine work.

I also put the door jambs in for the Bathroom and Bedroom pocket doors. But I forgot to take photos of that work. I do have the baseboards in the bathroom and most of the bedroom (you can see the baseboards in the photo above). I also put in the switch and outlet cover plates in finally. And i know I havew to finish the casing around the bedroom Window, the door jambs took longer than I thought.

The lower level looks great! When can Lou and I move in? I think you need to send the before and after photos to Rate my Space (HGTV) and to your other sister.

I just want to say thanks to Susan and Joe for a wonderful weekend in the North woods. Their house if really a gem! The floors are gorgeous! All of the windows make the house open and airy and the views are stupendous! I had a wonderful time. Learned many new techniques from Susan and got some great ideas at the Convention. The boat ride was loads of fun (because of all of the birds that we saw) and the woods around the lake looked particularly beautiful with the tinges of color as the trees start changing. It was a fun weekend despite the lemon laws!

PS Max is a cutey and was always very excited about eating (even at midnight). He particularly likes fish fry from Tulas and I hope Susan and Joe will remember that the next time they go!
