Max the Chipmunk hunter!

This last Saturday morning I took Max our Cat down by the lake. I just want to see his reaction to the pier and the water. I put him on the pier, but he did not like it all. He ran off after a couple of seconds. So I decided to walk up  to the house.

While walking Max spotted a Chipmunk (no not the Alvin type, a real one). The Chippie ran into a old stump. Max got with in inches of the stump. At one point it was Max on one side and the Chipper on the other. Max stood very still for several minutes. Finally the Chipmunk decided it was safe and took off running.

Well either Max moved very fast or it was the worlds slowest chipmonk. After a 10 foot run Max tripped the Chipmunk and caught him in his mouth. The chipmunk was trying to get away. Finally I had to catch Max and pry open his mouth. The Chipmunk ran off unharmed. Which is a good thing because we are a Chipmunk friendly household.

I took Max back into the house. He was very proud that at age 15 that he still can hunt with the best of them. I took Max out later and you could hear the Chipmunks signaling each other warning that Max was out.
